• Rush has started pre-production. Guitarist Alex Lifeson is engineering the sessions. This is their first new music since its 2007 album Snakes & Arrows. Drummer Neil Peart told the Canadian Press that the band was going to work on two songs, saying, "If they turn out well, we'll maybe even release them (on their own). We're saying, what if we do a little songwriting and then a little touring to play those songs, and then get back to the songwriting again? It would be an interesting way to shake up our usual way." Bassist/singer Geddy Lee told us a while back that he's the one who usually gets the writing and recording process started"I think it's usually me, because I have more Jewish guilt than the other guys do. And even though I have no problem completely disregarding my responsibilities for at least a year, after a year and a couple of months I start feeling a bit like I should really probably do something that's less indulgent than collecting wine or going to ball games or playing tennis."

• Elton John reportedly wants to do another duet with Lady Gaga -- this time, he's interested in recording the next James Bond movie theme song. It's been rumored that Gaga is in the running to do a song to the film series. Elton recently told a U.K. newspaper, "I'm really pleased that Lady Gaga is up for the theme tune. She's fantastic and it would be amazing to do a duet." Sir Elton is planning another duet with Gaga after their Grammy performance together duet with Gaga at a Rainforest fundraiser event in May in N.Y I thought they were GREAT at the Grammy's!!! Meanwhile, I have been hearing this rumor for a while… Elton is in the running to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol next season. As much as I love Ellen.....I think Elton is more suited to be a judge, no????

Sammy Hagar is happy with his current band Chickenfoot …already working on a new album, but couldn't help himself from speaking out about the lack of Van Halen's progress. He spoke to The San Gabriel Valley Tribune and said he was amazed that Van Halen hasn't released a new studio album in nearly 20 years/ (Almost .20 years? I hadn’t realized that!!!) Sammy said, “The band broke up in 1995. The last record was in '93. 17 years and they haven't made any new music. That's crazy . . . if it changed and it was like it used to be when I was in the band, I could do a reunion and an album, but not under these circumstances."

Sammy said that in 2004 when he and current Chickenfoot bandmate Michael Anthony recorded three new songs for Van Halen's Best Of Both Worlds compilation, the pace that the band was working at was far to slow for him: "We tried to make a record, but, y'know, it just was taking so long we only got three songs done, and not 'cause of me, I'll tell ya straight up. If anyone ever says anything like that I was the problem on that record, they're crazy. I had my stuff totally together. I went in, I knocked my stuff out, and then Eddie would take months to do a guitar solo or something. It was just way too drawn out. I can't work like that."

Isn’t he precious??? Axl Rose Threatens To End Show In Peru!

A recent Guns N' Roses show in Lima, Peru, got off to a bad start after the audience began throwing things at the stage after waiting until after midnight for the band to appear. According to Clashmusic.com, this caused frontman Axl Rose to threaten to cut the performance short. Through an interpreter, Rose said, "If you wanna throw s**t, we will leave. We would like to stay and have fun with you for a long time tonight. So we're gonna have fun? Let's try that again."

Ozzy Osbourne has changed the name of his upcom release due to outcries from his fan base. The new album, slated for release this June, was originally titled Soul Sucka, but has since been changed to Scream.
